  1. The setting of a novel is the place where the action takes place as well as the historical period in which it occurs.  What is the setting of your novel?

  1. The characters in a novel are the people who carry the story forward.  Who are the main characters in your novel?

  1. The plot of a novel is the series of events that make up the story.  A plot has a beginning, middle, a climax or high point of interest, and an end.  What is the plot of your novel?

The narrator is the person through whose eyes the action of the novel is seen.  Many novels are told from the point of view of a single narrator.  Sometimes, the narrator knows the thoughts of some or all of the characters.  Who is the narrator of your novel and what point of view does he or she have.

  1. The theme is the central idea of a work.  It is the main statement that the author is trying to covey.  What is the theme of the novel you read?
